Ritz-Carlton Riyadh Prison Reopens For Guests On Valentines Day (February 14, 2018)

Ritz-Carlton, the worlds most luxurious prison, in the Saudi capitol of Riyadh has reopened its reservation system for new bookings effective on valentines day (February 14, 2018).

The hotel has been used since early November (read more here) to house Saudi royal family members and government officials accused of corruptions. Some have paid their way out, but not all yet.

This must have been very unfortunate situation for Marriott. They had to throw out the paying guests when the Saudi government took the hotel over and communication lines were cut off too.

Saudi Arabia has been contemplating opening the country for tourism. Not sure how this would work with female and minority travelers.

Right now it is quite difficult place to visit for non-religious or business visits. Transit visa would always be possibility though if flying on Saudia
